On October 14, 2025, Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT), the Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO), and the School of Economics at Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a joint Behavioral and Experimental Economics Lab. The Lab will serve as a collaborative platform for research, teaching, and outreach in behavioral and experimental economics, focusing on areas such as agriculture, rural development, sustainability, and public policy. It will also foster capacity building through training programs, workshops, and exchange opportunities for faculty, researchers, and students.
Through this partnership, the three institutions aim to enhance international cooperation by conducting joint research projects, applying for international funding, and disseminating results through co-authored publications, conferences, and policy briefs. The signing of the MoU reflects a shared commitment to advancing innovation, evidence-based policymaking, and interdisciplinary research that supports sustainable and inclusive development in Central Asia and beyond.
