- The descriptive system comprises five dimensions: mobility, self-care, usual activities, pain/discomfort and anxiety/depression. Each dimension has 5 levels: no problems, slight problems, moderate problems, severe problems and extreme problems. The patient is asked to indicate his/her health state by ticking the box next to the most appropriate statement in each of the five dimensions. This decision results in a 1-digit number that expresses the level selected for that dimension. The digits for the five dimensions can be combined into a 5-digit number that describes the patient’s health state.
- The EQ VAS records the patient’s self-rated health on a vertical visual analogue scale where the endpoints are labelled ‘The best health you can imagine’ and ‘The worst health you can imagine’. The VAS can be used as a quantitative measure of health outcome that reflects the patient’s own judgement.
- The EQ-5D-5L health state value set survey for the Uzbekistan population will be conducted in five regions: Bukhara, Kashkadarya, Khorezm, Tashkent, and Ferghana. A total of 1,000 respondents will be randomly selected to participate in the survey, ensuring a diverse and representative sample of the population.
- The findings will be first step to perform economic evaluation of the health state and to make evidence-based policy decisions in the health sector. The results of the study are useful for researchers, policy makers, and academicians in the Ministry of Health.
- The findings from this study will be finalized and published soon, providing valuable insights into the health preferences of the population across the selected regions.
